Protect You & Your Family From Unwanted Guests
Bats occasionally find ways inside of homes, attracted to the warmth and seclusion offered by attics, chimneys, crawl spaces, and wall cavities. Bats will typically avoid human contact, but can carry and transmit diseases, particularly rabies, posing a potential danger to you and your family.
If you find a bat in your home or find signs of their presence, our team of pest control experts are here to help. Our team can assist with safe, professional removal and implement exclusion measures to keep any bats from coming back!
Please note: No final exclusion services can be completed during the months of June and July. This ensures we don’t trap young bats inside your home.
Our Bat Exclusion Process
Our humane process safely removes bats and ensures they can’t get back in. Here’s a quick overview of how it works.
1. Inspect & Identify We conduct a thorough inspection of your building to find all active entry points and potential weak spots, using lifts or ladders if needed. We also identify areas with bat droppings (guano) that will require clean-up.
2. Seal & Secure We use professional-grade sealants to close all secondary openings and potential future entry points, preventing bats from finding a new way in.
3. Install One-Way Devices We install special one-way “bat cones” on the main entry points. These devices allow bats to safely exit the building but block them from getting back in.
4. Final Follow-Up, Sealing, & Guano Clean-Up We return after 2-6 weeks, depending on population size, to confirm all bats are gone. We then remove the one-way devices and permanently seal the main entry points. Finally, we thoroughly clean and remove all bat droppings (guano), leaving your property bat-free and clean.
How Much Does Bat Removal & Exclusion Cost?
The cost for professional bat removal and exclusion services is determined by the size of your home or building, the number of entry points that need to be sealed, and how difficult it is to access the problem areas (such as high peaks or complex rooflines). Because every bat problem is unique, we provide a thorough inspection to give you an accurate and detailed quote for getting the bats out of your home for good.
Are Bats in Your Home a Serious Problem?
Yes, having bats in your home is a serious issue that should be handled immediately. A bat colony’s droppings (called guano) can build up in attics and walls, destroying insulation, causing strong odors, and creating a significant health hazard from fungal spores that can cause lung infections. Furthermore, bats are the leading carrier of rabies in Pennsylvania. The safest option is to call a professional for bat removal as soon as you notice a problem.
Why You Shouldn’t Handle Bats Yourself
You should never try to handle a bat yourself. Bats can carry rabies, and a bite from their small teeth can be hard to detect, especially if it happens while you are sleeping. On top of the health risk, many bat species are protected by state law, making it illegal to harm, trap, or kill them. Attempting a DIY solution is dangerous and often illegal. Our bat removal team is trained to handle these situations safely, humanely, and in accordance with all state wildlife laws.
What is Bat “Exclusion”? (And Why We Don’t “Exterminate”)
Bat exclusion is the only effective and legal method to get rid of bats in your home long-term. Because bats are protected animals, it is illegal to “exterminate” or poison them. The video to the left shows part of a recent bat exclusion completed by our technicians.

Bat Removal & Exclusion FAQs
- What are the common signs of a bat problem?
-
The most common signs are hearing scratching or squeaking noises in your attic or walls, especially at dusk and dawn. You may also find bat droppings (guano) on your siding or on the ground, or see bats flying out of a specific area of your home around sunset.
- How do bats get inside a house?
-
Bats can squeeze through incredibly small gaps, some as small as a dime. They often get inside through unsecured attic vents, gaps in siding, openings where different rooflines meet, or an uncapped chimney.
- When is the best time for bat removal?
-
Bat removal is best done in the early spring or fall. We cannot legally or humanely perform an exclusion during the summer “maternity season” (June through July) when baby bats are present. Removing the adults would trap the flightless babies inside, which is inhumane and creates a larger problem.
- Do you exterminate or kill the bats?
-
No, absolutely not. It is illegal to exterminate bats. Our service is a 100% humane bat exclusion. We use one-way devices that allow the bats to leave your home on their own but prevent them from re-entering.
- Do you clean up bat droppings (guano)?
-
Yes! Bat guano (droppings) can be hazardous to your health and should be removed by professionals. Our bat exclusion service includes removal guano clean-up services. We will provide a full quote after our initial inspection.
- Why are bats protected?
-
Bats are protected animals at both the state and federal levels. In Pennsylvania, it is illegal to harm, trap, or kill bats. Many species, like the Little Brown Bat, have seen their populations devastated by a disease called White-Nose Syndrome.
Beyond being illegal, bats are incredibly beneficial to our ecosystem. A single bat can eat thousands of insects, including mosquitoes and agricultural pests, every night. Because they are so important and their populations are so fragile, the only legal and effective solution is humane bat exclusion.
