How Much Does Bed Bug Treatment Cost?

Bed bug treatments usually range from $400-800+.

We can’t give an exact price over the phone because every situation is different. The final cost depends on:

  • The size of your home
  • How bad the infestation is

An Akita technician will inspect your home and give you a clear, honest price before we start any work. Most treatments also come with a 60-day guarantee.

How We Treat for Bed Bugs

We utilize advanced methods to ensure we eliminate the infestation at its source. Our primary tool is Aprehend®, a biopesticide designed specifically for treatment for bed bugs.

What is Aprehend®?

Aprehend® is a natural treatment that uses fungus to target bed bugs.

  1. A bed bug walks over a treated area and picks up the fungus.
  2. It carries the fungus back to the nest.
  3. The fungus spreads to the other bugs, eliminating the whole colony.

Why we use this treatment:

  • Lasts a long time: It stays active for up to 3 months to make sure bugs don’t come back.
  • One and done: We usually only need to treat your home once.
  • Odorless: It has no smell and uses no harsh chemicals.

Early Signs of Bed Bugs & Bed Bug Bites

The sooner you find bed bugs, the easier they are to get rid of. Seeing a live bug is the best proof, but they are experts at hiding.

Keep an eye out for these clues:

  • Red or Rusty Stains: Small spots on your sheets caused by crushed bugs.
  • Dark Spots: Bed bug droppings. These look like marker dots and can bleed into the fabric.
  • Eggs & Skins: Look for tiny, pale yellow eggs or skins shed by young bugs.

Not sure if it’s actually bed bugs? If you spot any of these signs, the best way to know for sure is to schedule a professional inspection.

Identifying Bed Bug Bites

Bed bug bites usually appear as small, red, itchy bumps.

Unlike random mosquito bites, bed bug bites often look different in two ways:

  • The Pattern: They often show up in a straight line or a zigzag pattern.
  • The Location: They usually appear on skin exposed while sleeping, like your arms, legs, or neck.

Everyone reacts differently. Some people have no reaction at all, while others get large, hive-like bumps.

Important: Waking up with bites can be scary, but bites alone are not proof of an infestation. You need to find physical signs (like the bugs or droppings) to be sure.

Bed Bug Treatment Guarantee

Most treatments come with a 60-day guarantee (or longer) for qualifying cases.

Bed Bug Treatment FAQs

How did I get bed bugs?

Bed bugs are “hitchhikers.” They don’t care if a home is clean or dirty.

You most likely picked them up from:

  • Travel (hotels or luggage)
  • Used furniture
  • Public transportation or waiting rooms

It’s not your fault, but we are here to help you fix it.

Can I get rid of bed bugs on my own?

You can try, but we don’t recommend it. Bed bugs are one of the hardest pests to kill without special equipment.

DIY treatments often make the problem worse. Instead of killing the bugs, store-bought sprays can push them deeper into your walls and furniture, making them harder to reach.

Is your bed bug treatment effective?

Yes. Our team of licensed pest control professionals applies treatments strategically where they will be most effective at eliminating the colony while remaining people- and pet-friendly.

When can I expect results?

We usually only need to treat your home once.

Because the treatment works by spreading from bug to bug, it can take a few weeks to get rid of the entire colony.

The Aprehend® treatment stays active for up to 3 months. This protects you long enough to make sure every last bug is gone.

How do I prepare for bed bug treatment?

Getting your home ready is a huge part of our success. We will give you a full checklist before we arrive, but here are the general rules:

  • DO: Reduce clutter and wash all your bedding in hot water (dry on high heat).
  • DON’T: Move furniture or items out of the room. This can spread the bugs to the rest of your house.
Should I throw away my mattress?

In most cases, no!

You DO NOT need to throw out your bed or couch. Our treatment is designed to save your furniture.

In fact, we recommend against dragging mattresses and furniture out of the house. Moving these items can drop bed bugs or their eggs around other areas of your home, spreading the infestation.

As part of our inspection, an Akita technician will inspect your mattress and provide any additional instructions.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. Our bed bug control services come with a 60-day guarantee (or longer) for qualifying cases. If the problem persists, we will re-treat at no additional cost.

Why do I still feel itchy even after treatment?

This is completely normal!

Dealing with bed bugs is stressful. That stress often makes your skin feel sensitive or “crawly,” even when no bugs are there.

  • Healing bites: Old bites can stay itchy for days or weeks.
  • Heightened awareness: Because you are worried, every loose thread or hair can feel like a bug.

Trust the process. If you don’t see new bites or live bugs, the treatment is working.
